TIPTOEING

The spring is on its tiptoes. Full moon. Ice crackling under steps. The city filled with daffodils.

Castles, knights, towers, a forest dressing room and more tiptoeing for a brochure for the magical ballet Raymonda in a huge opera house Teatro alla Scala in Milano.

Did you ever dance ballet? For a while I was a little ballerina in a sea turquoise dress. Still when I can smell one specific soap, my ballet teacher comes to my mind and my posture gets a little bit straighter. Her red long hair while dancing, were wild.

Blue-skied greetings!

  3. What a lovely brochure - good for you! Such a prestigious place to work for...:) The ballet traces in your life have led you to this moment, don't you think? As old people say - everything that happens has a reason!
I've danced ballet when I was 7 years old - I remmeber I was a little horse on a big stage in a long queue of little horses!:D
    I enjoyed reading your words...!

  4. wonderful and yes i did dance ballet as a hugely fat 10 year old enrolled against my will in the 4 year old class...my mother decided as well as feeding me non-stop crap she also wanted to get rid of my flat feet via weekly classes of public humiliation! not quite the same memory as yours! lol x

  5. what a gorgeous brochure :) I love seeing ballets. Everything looks so fabulous and effortless (while I'm perfectly aware that there is a lot of pain and hard work behind it). I had some ballet classes in the University sports-program and I loved it... but after a while it just wouldn't fit into my schedule anymore - but I would love to do it again.

  6. Oh, congratulation Anna Emilia, the brochure is wonderful!
I'm smiling at the thought that you realized the brouchure for them; I've overpassed Teatro alla Scala daily for five years on my way back home from work and this connection -between you and the theater- makes me feel we live in huge but tiny world at the same time.
    Happy spring!

    1. Oh Elisa, how wonderful to hear this. It makes this so concrete in a way. And the huge world a little smaller. Hopefully one day I can also pass the theatre and visit it. Will think of you if I do so!

      Happy spring to you too.
