ALLOTMENT TENT

A small house, just the size for a humble ladybird from paper scraps. Was thinking of north, of Lapland where I will travel next week. But it is more a house for a humble ladybird than a Sami tent.

An evening walk in sunset. A pink evening walk. It has been very warm. Hot. Working behind closed curtains during days and reading a book by the arboretum shore about building a shed in the evenings. Then on the way home a longer path till the sun sets. Today in the allotment garden, where two grannies were marveling at all the blooming in their white pajamas. Lilacs scenting everything.

See you in the week of Midsummer bonfires. Summer whispers from me to you.

P.s. Hopefully showing you soon a new picture for a nice project.

  1. Aha, I actually know about the Sami, but just a little bit, from reading this Vendela Vida novel. http://www.nytimes.com/2006/12/31/books/review/Bell.t.html

  4. It would be lovely to build a place of your very own. I always think I would love to know how. But your little ladybug house is wonderful too.

Have a lovely time in Lapland. Bon voyage!

  5. I had a friend who once built a "shed" with nothing but a few simple hand tools way out in the woods. It took him a year to build. When it was all done he put nothing in it at all. The only "feature" to the shed, because it was no more than a simple box out in the woods, was that it had a huge window facing east. When asked why he wasn't putting anything in it, he said that his wish was to get up in the still dark hours of the early morning and walk through the woods to his hut and greet the morning by sitting in front of that window, by himself, completely independent of "stuff" that served no purpose other than making the rest of the day seem like a chore.
Just thought, Anna Emilia, I would share that "shed" thought with you. Carolina

  6. Such a cute lil ladybird tent :) Ah, I can understand what the man felt in The Muse of The Day's comment, to be away from everything, from stuff, to just be you and the sun and the woods would be wonderful!

  7. Short and sweet and I am there. How you conjure so much magic in a few lines of words or strokes. To Lapland: ) a dream of mine. I have been as far north as Tromso in Norway and felt quite at home. Have a dream to go back for the summer sun rising: ) Enjoy your journey and I will look froward to seeing what inspirations come home with you.

    Thank you Thank you

  8. So much exquisite and quiet beauty in your blog. I like the mix of photography and print-paint-drawing. I like your handwriting and your faux-naive drawing style. I hope you have a lovely time in Lapland. It is a place that has enchanted me since my childhood.
