11 GREETING CARDS, AUTUMN SONGS

On a rainy day finally indoors, cleaning shelves and arranging: a few packs of 11 Greeting Cards for Red Cap Cards added to my small online shop, including three foil cards. Good for the ones especially living in Europe, no custom fees. Many happy moments and wishes!

The mornings and all the colours of the leaves. Lots of bicycling, rowing, walking and a few ice-creams when the summer momentarily came back. Now the raindrops calm down.

Drip. Drop. Drip. Drip-drip. Drop. Drip.

NORTHBOUND

Summer, even cold so far, Northern magic at home in the East and in Lapland. Trees that get smaller and twisted on the way, people who get more relaxed. The sun that does not set. The visitors with antlers on greener blueberry patches. Secrets of the North.

Happy summer!

THE SAME, SO DIFFERENT

It is a windy and a rainy morning, quite mild air. Melodies of drumming on window sills. Days are getting so short and when the clouds hug, they seem even shorter.

Lingering in a few weeks back when frosty air covered everything in glimmer. How the day was so pastel and when the night turned on its lights, the landscape became so huge.

Two photos from the same place, same day. Oh how small we are and how beautiful our planet Earth is.

Star shines and fresh winds!

(The second photo is taken by my brother.)

AUTUMN LAUNDRY IN MIST

September began with misty sunsets.

Time to fold summer away. In Meadow -painting as Tamah duvet cover is still available at La Redoute.

The colour green is still the majority. More yellow and red every day.

First fires in fireplaces, that comforting smoky scent. Wooden Fence as a Birch Tree duvet cover for Urban Outfitters, still available. And shams too.

Rowing around. That small moment of sunshine in the forest on the other shore.

The forests are filled with mushrooms. Almost seeing as they grow. Trees so tall. Crows flying and singing with their dark voices.

Have a beautiful misty Wednesday!

AUGUST

Summer continues with reflections and swimming, pink sunsets, by-swimmers, reading books in shadowy parks. Wild strawberries.

It has been very warm and sunny with a few thunder storms that were forgotten already the next day with new tickling sunshine.

Welcome August and more sunshine with tiny hints of changing season!

EMBRACED IN GREEN

Afternoon walks, sunset bicycling. Heatwave and thunderstorm. Pouring rain and then calm and sunny again. Hems of dresses and bare feet. Blueberry sorbet in a park on green grass. Late nights reading books outdoors. The fragile scent of Bird Cherries flying in the wind. Hello summer, good morning all the green!

Just a little reminder, if searching a little bit of summer for you or yours, some of it can be found at my small online shop. Edit: Some new photos of the prints added to the shop.

Summer smiles!

ARCTIC THYME, ICE SCRIBBLES

Flora memories of the Arctic from some years back and the melting ice scribbles from a week ago. On Saturday two swans swimming in open water behind windows.

Coffee cups in sunshine with friends, music and bicycling. Piles of unread newspapers forecast more sunny days ahead.

Welcome spring, though the winter can´t really leave us as she never completely came.

Happy last day of March!

BLUE GREY JANUARY

It is very unusual to have no snow in January. Some trees are making buds of spring. Some of the migrating birds have not left. It feels strange to discover the landscape in such a long autumn coat.

Lovely moments with friends from close and far.

The weekend might bring our usual January weather. My skis are ready!

Wishes of snowflakes, have a beautiful day and a calm weekend!

WHITE, GREY

Soft whiteness arrived this morning. The silence and the same time a new sound under walking steps.

The colours starting to hide.

Everything so still.

The same time some colours become more visible.

The city behind the small lake disappears.

No-one there.

Reaching/hiding.

Turning back home icy flakes on nose and in eyes. Fingers around a hot tea cup.

Welcome winter!

GOLDEN, SILVER

Everything has been golden lately. Raking yellow leaves at the summerhouse.

Night storm and sound of waves rising the stones. Morning so calm, like mirror the lake. Hello clouds!

Scent of fire and chimneys with smoke. Squirrel on the roof. Swans in the sky and swimming in the lake.

Frost layers. Swimming under a starry sky in the evening. Running back to the warmth of sauna.

Patchwork of trees.

In different patterns.

Ant paths, pulling frozen mushrooms from soft moss pillows.

Gold on silver layer.

Bagfuls of gold.

Today everything turned to silver. Floating gentle snow. Then real snowing. A light cover of snow here and there.

Hello winter!

SUMMER PATHS

Wild strawberries and strawberries from the fields of my parents.

Ferry rides and curvy forest roads. After a summer storm checking if the tall trees survived.

Warm glimmering waters inside those tall trees.

Warm and sweet, pine scents and first blueberries. The scent of lake water. Could stay in the water until evening.

Birch trees. Last night, Patti Smith told in her concert here, a story how birch trees are girls that danced so long that they turned to birch trees. Dancing forests.

Shadows on silver meadows.

Sunset.

Ninety years old sauna. The cosiest one. Watching as shadows grow taller. A few steps behind to pick a few handfuls of strawberries.

Strawberry fields forever.
