SPRING ALLOTMENT

A few coltsfoot, that have popped up from the earth, are more yellow than the Sun, that shines through a misty cloud on its way down behind the city. Orange and purple Crocuses are awake too. The lake is melting every day more, the waves are happy and alive. Glimmering those golden rays of the one hiding shyly behind the misty clouds.

Spring Allotment, a new little garden to grow up with, for L'Affiche Moderne, is now available. Its companion painting, Garden of A Moon Gazer, is still available too.

Spring Allotment is supported by Arts Promotion Centre Finland. Thank you so much!

Spring wishes!

BLUE GREY JANUARY

It is very unusual to have no snow in January. Some trees are making buds of spring. Some of the migrating birds have not left. It feels strange to discover the landscape in such a long autumn coat.

Lovely moments with friends from close and far.

The weekend might bring our usual January weather. My skis are ready!

Wishes of snowflakes, have a beautiful day and a calm weekend!

NORTHERN HUT IN A TREE, IN TENNESSEE

Morning tea in candle light. Yellow leaves glittering on dark wet asphalt. Like reflections of the stars from the sky. Slowly the day breaks. Small patches of pale blue sky.

Almost a year ago, Erin Rae wrote to ask if any of my paintings were available for her first EP cover. The 16th of October Crazy Talk will be published with Tree House on its cover. Meanwhile you can listen Erin´s music here. Going Away video is like a postcard from Nashville, Tennessee where this small Northern hut in a tree has traveled. Congratulations Erin!

Tree House available also as a print.

Morning bicycle ride to the post office, who did send me a surprise package?

Have a sweet day!

GARDEN OF A MOON GAZER

It makes to feel so small sometimes when thinking as big thoughts as the distances between the Sun and our beautiful planet Earth. And that, here very early tomorrow morning, we see Venus passing in between these two.

How things could happen as they are now, that we have here a summer, in Sydney it is autumn. That we all can jump and we all drop down to the ground, no one getting lost in to the space. That there are such things as dark winter nights and nightless Northern summer nights. And how the Moon is such a good companion, always following us, showing his face to us so secretly. Full or half, a crescent. Sometimes hiding. That we see the Venus as a small black dot in front of the sun. Distances that are too long to think.

A garden for a night sky watcher, and shooting star finder. Garden for night time scents and blue flowers. A small tent hut also for a gazer of the transit of Venus. Garden of A Moon Gazer available as an original painting from me and as different sized prints from L’Affiche Moderne. Thank you so much Mélanie for this opportunity!

Is it possible to see the journey of Venus from your place? Will you see it? (Please, remember to protect your eyes!) Let´s see if the weather is fine here tomorrow morning. Today it shines through puffy sheep-formed clouds.

Greetings to Venus, to Moon and to you.

NIGHTS TO WALK AND PEDAL

Three evenings in sunset. Four hedgehogs, two friends. Three bunnies, hundreds of birds. An old bus, tens of new freckles painting my nose. All of us under the same sky.

That sky is just different to us. Sunny and hot here and cold and rainy in there, cool under the shadows of lilac bushes for the rabbits. I think it will be changed next week. Change is good, grey days are needed. Me and the green things outside we need rain once in a while.

I hear wings, they come and go above the roof. Now someone visits me on the balcony. They never speak there, just on the branches. A pity as I quite don´t get if they want to join for the dinner of champions-, pecan nuts- and zucchini-risotto over apple pancakes (Emilia´s name day celebration of yesterday).

Thank you once again so very deeply for everyone writing to me. It feels so good to hear from you and I think of your words many times through the days.

All my love,

Anna Emilia

WALKING IN SOUNDS

These are the places I dream about today. A waterfall joining a river and running down to the sea, babbling on its way. Wind very gentle. Secret huts and a small bridge. Caressed by round mountains around and a hint of snow to make everything fresh. Afternoon nap in Meadow buttercups.

Here sunset has arrived, snow melts quicker every moment, a rabbit eats seeds by an oak in the safety of the arrived darkness, sauna is warming up and tummy is filled with berries, fruits and tea. Have a good long weekend!
