SPRING ALLOTMENT

A few coltsfoot, that have popped up from the earth, are more yellow than the Sun, that shines through a misty cloud on its way down behind the city. Orange and purple Crocuses are awake too. The lake is melting every day more, the waves are happy and alive. Glimmering those golden rays of the one hiding shyly behind the misty clouds.

Spring Allotment, a new little garden to grow up with, for L'Affiche Moderne, is now available. Its companion painting, Garden of A Moon Gazer, is still available too.

Spring Allotment is supported by Arts Promotion Centre Finland. Thank you so much!

Spring wishes!

EMERALD GREEN TIME OF THE YEAR

It is the emerald green time of the year. It is a rainy day after many sunny and warm ones. It is a day I heard my voice first time on a radio interview. It is an evening after a wonderful week filled with so much beauty. This was quite wonderful.

The sound of the rain while walking, the poor Mr Crow. The scent of birch trees. The moment when remembering that this won´t last long. The nights that are so bright. The Moon that is almost full. Sauna and a little bit more painting.

EMBRACED IN GREEN

Afternoon walks, sunset bicycling. Heatwave and thunderstorm. Pouring rain and then calm and sunny again. Hems of dresses and bare feet. Blueberry sorbet in a park on green grass. Late nights reading books outdoors. The fragile scent of Bird Cherries flying in the wind. Hello summer, good morning all the green!

Just a little reminder, if searching a little bit of summer for you or yours, some of it can be found at my small online shop. Edit: Some new photos of the prints added to the shop.

Summer smiles!

WHITENESS, LAST SHOP SHIPPING DAY THIS FRIDAY

On Saturday morning a wedge of 22 swans flew over the tree tops on a grey sky. Singing sadly on their way, telling a long and old story from the ancient times most probably. Open waters have disappeared, I waved good-bye to them on their way to South. I am soon on my way to North instead.

That is why this Friday, the 13th of December is the last day to order items from my small online shop before Christmas. The shop stays open, but all orders done after Friday will be shipped after 27th of December. Some of the posters are back, also some greeting cards.

Candle lights, lanterns everywhere as the days are so short. The darkness is hugging with so many warm moments.

A few floating snowflakes, a cup of cinnamon tea and a smile to your day!

WHITE, GREY

Soft whiteness arrived this morning. The silence and the same time a new sound under walking steps.

The colours starting to hide.

Everything so still.

The same time some colours become more visible.

The city behind the small lake disappears.

No-one there.

Reaching/hiding.

Turning back home icy flakes on nose and in eyes. Fingers around a hot tea cup.

Welcome winter!

LUMI, SNOW, SNJÓR, SNÖ, SCHNEE, NEVE, NEIGE

Hello winter!

A morning walk with new sounds under steps in daybreak. Everything was more silent. Tiny steps of winter beings visible, they have been busy. The wind very sharp, the lake is still wavy.

Have a calm weekend, stay warm!

GARDEN OF A MOON GAZER

It makes to feel so small sometimes when thinking as big thoughts as the distances between the Sun and our beautiful planet Earth. And that, here very early tomorrow morning, we see Venus passing in between these two.

How things could happen as they are now, that we have here a summer, in Sydney it is autumn. That we all can jump and we all drop down to the ground, no one getting lost in to the space. That there are such things as dark winter nights and nightless Northern summer nights. And how the Moon is such a good companion, always following us, showing his face to us so secretly. Full or half, a crescent. Sometimes hiding. That we see the Venus as a small black dot in front of the sun. Distances that are too long to think.

A garden for a night sky watcher, and shooting star finder. Garden for night time scents and blue flowers. A small tent hut also for a gazer of the transit of Venus. Garden of A Moon Gazer available as an original painting from me and as different sized prints from L’Affiche Moderne. Thank you so much Mélanie for this opportunity!

Is it possible to see the journey of Venus from your place? Will you see it? (Please, remember to protect your eyes!) Let´s see if the weather is fine here tomorrow morning. Today it shines through puffy sheep-formed clouds.

Greetings to Venus, to Moon and to you.

ALLOTMENT TENT

A small house, just the size for a humble ladybird from paper scraps. Was thinking of north, of Lapland where I will travel next week. But it is more a house for a humble ladybird than a Sami tent.

An evening walk in sunset. A pink evening walk. It has been very warm. Hot. Working behind closed curtains during days and reading a book by the arboretum shore about building a shed in the evenings. Then on the way home a longer path till the sun sets. Today in the allotment garden, where two grannies were marveling at all the blooming in their white pajamas. Lilacs scenting everything.

See you in the week of Midsummer bonfires. Summer whispers from me to you.

P.s. Hopefully showing you soon a new picture for a nice project.

BEAMS OF A SKY LION

Mr. Sun was shining on Friday in his well rested clothes of gold and glimmer. In the old neighborhood all were still asleep. Tiny steps on snow. Crows nodding their heads for a passerby. Secret meetings of theirs, secret language of theirs from another corner to another one. A pheasant and his tail. Only narrow paths to walk. Carefully not to wake up the neighborhood yet.

Today he is shining again. A sun day for another walk.

Warm thoughts, welcome February!

SOUNDSCAPE OF YESTERDAY

Rattle of fallen leaves in the wind. Bicycle tire banging into footpath, dark grey asphalt with sand here and there. Traffic lights peeping. Warm hug of a friend and a smile welcoming. Coffee house door opening, closing and opening again with a little sound of a humble bell. Hot drinks outdoors, café owner comes to wrap us to blankets like her own children. Spoons circling around inside the cups. Passer-bys with strong taps or lighter thumps. A boy like dancing with his school bag, a light soul, no homework.

Back to home in wind, meetings of other bicycles, red, black, grey ones on the way. Breaks of the bus number 15 make familiar rhythm in crossroads. Like the game that I played when I was smaller, always going home, eyes closed in a car, guessing in which curve we are.

Home, paper rattles, pencil lines. Water boiling. Knife cutting apples. Evening walk, sun is silent, vegetation is silent, turning yellow red purple pink. Only a few lost bees clattering inside bushes and crows cawing on lamp posts showing their area. Bowing deep, like doormen with fine top hats.

Bows and curtseys, happy morning!

EARLY RENDEZVOUS, A FAREWELL FOR A WHILE

Hello dear all of you,

Early morning of the Midsummer Eve and a walk while everyone else were still asleep. All silent, but the summer wind and Mr. Bunny, who I met many times on different paths. He was certainly having the most fresh breakfast of dandelions and a bit of the flowers of the allotment garden. Then we met on a meadow and I was already sure that he had marked the same route to his unplanned morning walk map.

Vanya won the give-away, congratulations! I will send it to you after my holiday as I still did not reach you. Thank you to everyone for writing your messages and wishes, every one of them I read carefully and keep in my mind, being so happy about them.

A bag is filled with a summer book and small provisions, in the afternoon I will travel 1937 kilometers away. Then on Monday some 4016 km more. We will meet in August again!

Bonfires, summer lake waves, warm forests with wood-sorrels and meadows of green to you,
Please be well,

Anna Emilia

BRITTLE RAIN, A GIVEAWAY

Good morning dear all of you,

A brittle rain shower woke this town up on my small morning walk. A blackbird is humming while tea water boils, it will be plain green for the first cups today. Radio host is telling about the sea weather forecast in the islands in Archipelago Sea. Wind speeds from different directions and many rain showers ahead. Here a new rain shower just started to drum the grass outside with a loud sound.

Mid Summer Meadow is a small painting I painted two days ago. It is my giveaway as a gift for your kindness. It is framed in a small wooden frame. If you want to be part of the game, please leave a comment and I will pick up a winner on Thursday evening at 19.00 EEST. Everyone is welcome!

A new morning, a new day, it will pass quickly, so let´s catch this moment (for me a breakfast with a berry smoothie and then painting).

Have a pleasant weekend!

P.s. The shop is still open for six days.

Edit: Vanya won the give-away, congratulations! (Please email me your address!)

TEATIME AT MY NEIGHBORS

Tea water was boiling, the doorbell rang. It was greetings all the way from poplar wool covered Moscow as a big parcel. It brought the published illustrations that I painted when there were still snow and northern lights in the sky for architecture and design magazine Interni Russia.

The brewed tea I poured to a thermos bottle, wrapped a few dark chocolate cashew nuts in a paper bag, put all in a bigger bag and walked for a very long tea break to the allotment garden´s windy bench. Lilacs fill the air with their scent everywhere.

The magazine is about architecture of the future with new technologies, materials, ecology and zero-emission houses. There are two versions, a usual magazine and The Mook, a perfect bound book. They both come with two supplements. The first one is about watches and the second one is about significant people, objects and buildings from 1910 to 2010. There are six illustrations that I did. Unfortunately my Russian is limited still to understand only a few alphabets, but this surely makes me to want to study the beautiful language more.

Thank you kindly dear Yulia & everyone else at Interni for this opportunity. Smiling greetings back to Moscow!

Greetings also to you, love and warm tea scents for your weekend!

P.s. Works number 1, 2 and 3 for Interni.

Edit: P.s. 2. Look how cute is she!
