CITY CHIMNEYS

Little rays of sunshine on the ice, green and red on my paint brushes. Lunch time soup boiling as lime green and broccoli green, coconut white, yellow bell pepper. With touches of thyme of last summer.

A little peek of last Monday, how a new spring week started on a window display by the rapids of Tammerkoski and in closeness of the city chimneys.

Calm and sweet last days of February!

IN GARDENS, ON WAVES, AND IN FOREST PATHS

Darling friends, I have the pleasure to invite you to my small exhibition about posters made of my paintings to a lovely boutique Design Boulevard here in Tampere. From the 18th of February until the 16th of March, 2013. Welcome!

Thank you so much sweet Karita for this possibility!

Have a beautiful Valentine's Day! Thank you all friends near and far for the moments together (in Finland Valentine's Day is celebrated more as a day for friendship)!

.....

Rakkaat ystävät, tervetuloa pieneen näyttelyyni Tampereen Design Boulevardille, jossa on esillä ja myynnissä maalauksistani tehtyjä julisteita. 18.2.-16.3.2013. Tervetuloa!

Kiitos suloinen Karita!

Lempeää ystävänpäivää ja kiitos kaikille ystäville lähellä ja kaukana yhteisistä hetkistä!

HOW WE MET THREE CATS

It is good to have friends who like to walk. To see the sunny corners, go through forests and climb small hills. Walk on paths, next to skiing tracks, greet the spring. See the snow forming pillows on tree stubs, the greenest moss. Telling stories. And watching how the rowing boats still sleep under snow.

The sun is warming. Afternoon naps on the balcony. Freckles blooming.

Sunny morning whispers!

BETWEEN STEPS

Walking home and counting. One-thousand-and-fourty-five steps to pass a graveyard. One-thousand-four-hundred-and-twenty-eight a forest. Intermingled amount from the last crossroad to home door (through mail box). Eleven to fetch woolen socks from the entry and nine stretched ones back to the working table. How many steps taken this year and were they all in different places. How many steps it would take to get you all here for a cup of tea and a blueberry cake.

Frankie Magazine (issue 39) has a small illustration and a few words by me about the town I live in. For the image I chose things that are common to all the places that I have lived in. I still think them all being homes of mine.

Snow hills on windows, like secret adventure landscapes. Silent adventures for the last days of this year and a gentle entrance for the coming one. Thank you for this year, thank you for your company!

Hearts filled with eucalyptus, orange and birch tree scents,

Anna Emilia

NIGHTS TO WALK AND PEDAL

Three evenings in sunset. Four hedgehogs, two friends. Three bunnies, hundreds of birds. An old bus, tens of new freckles painting my nose. All of us under the same sky.

That sky is just different to us. Sunny and hot here and cold and rainy in there, cool under the shadows of lilac bushes for the rabbits. I think it will be changed next week. Change is good, grey days are needed. Me and the green things outside we need rain once in a while.

I hear wings, they come and go above the roof. Now someone visits me on the balcony. They never speak there, just on the branches. A pity as I quite don´t get if they want to join for the dinner of champions-, pecan nuts- and zucchini-risotto over apple pancakes (Emilia´s name day celebration of yesterday).

Thank you once again so very deeply for everyone writing to me. It feels so good to hear from you and I think of your words many times through the days.

All my love,

Anna Emilia
